Bradley International Airport (BDL) is a major airport located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, United States. It opened in the year 1940 and handles around 8.5 million passengers annually.

The site is named after former Governor of Connecticut Charles Bradley. In 1951, the state authorized funds for the acquisition of land to build a commercial airport from 1952 to 1954, the first runway was constructed. The airport’s terminal building opened in 1952. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki who also designed the World Trade Center in New York City.

Bradley Airport has three runways with two currently operational and one inactive runway. There are two terminals: Terminal A (Air Cargo) and Terminal B (passengers), which has been renamed as Terminal C. Bradley Airport is a hub for United Airlines, FedEx Express, and Air Canada Express.

The airport remains popular with travelers due to its proximity to New York City and Boston.
It is surrounded by a number of companies that offer services for passengers such as hotel accommodations, rental cars, and bus service to the Hartford Metro Area.
